How to convert YouTube to MP3 on iPhone

  1. In the YouTube app, open the song and tap Share → Copy link.
  2. Open y-mp3.top in Safari and paste the link in the box above. You’ll see the title and length.
  3. Tap Download MP3. To keep only part of it, tap ✂️ and set the start and end.
  4. Safari asks whether to download the file: tap Download. It shows up under the blue arrow icon, top right.
  5. The song is now in Files → Downloads, ready to play.

Where the song goes, and how to listen

The MP3 lands in the Files app, not in Apple Music: Apple doesn’t let you add loose files to the Music library from the iPhone itself. You can play it straight from Files, use a player such as VLC to build playlists, or sync it into the Music app from a computer (Finder on a Mac, the Apple Devices app or iTunes on Windows).

Why there’s no app for this

The App Store doesn’t allow YouTube downloaders, so apps that promise it get pulled or are full of ads. A website that works in Safari needs no install, asks for no permissions and is always up to date. Want the video instead? See the YouTube downloader for iPhone.
